Why are there two drinking fountains in Lisburn City centre? How did Wallace High School get its name? Who built Castle House and gave Wallace Park to the citizens of Lisburn?
As a landowner and MP, Sir Richard Wallace was one of Lisburn’s major benefactors in the late 19th century as well as being a well known philanthropist and passionate art collector. His legacy can be found in the place names and buildings of Lisburn, the paintings in the fabulous Wallace Collection in London and the numerous Wallace Fountains he donated to Paris and Lisburn.
