Lisburn like many other urban centres must review and reinvent itself in the face of changing economic, social and lifestyle trends. The new Masterplan will help to steer Lisburn through these changing, challenging times ensuring the city can reach its potential and become an inspiring city and a catalyst for regeneration in Northern Ireland.
This Masterplan will build on the work that is already ongoing to help identify and promote further investment needed and development opportunities within the Historic and Laganbank Quarters. It will also compliment the Council’s economic strategy for the wider city over the next decade to sustain Lisburn’s strong reputation as a major retail, social and cultural destination.
From 27th August 2009 to 9th October there is a consultation process giving business owners, potential investors and the public the opportunity to give their feedback and thoughts on the plan so far. The plan will be displayed for this six week period in Lisburn Library, 1st Floor and the Lagan Valley Island Civic Centre Rotunda. It is also available to download at www.dsdni.gov.uk/consultations and www.lisburncity.gov.uk
