With eleven projects completed, the Bridge Street THI is contributing impressively to the area's regeneration. Another ten properties are scheduled for regeneration which will have a signifigant impact on this potentially very attractive 18th Century streetscape.

The Heritage Lottery Fund grant towards the Townscape Heritage Inititiative has been matched by valuable contributions from Lisburn City Council, the Planning Service, Down and Lisburn Trust and the NI Housing Executive.

Complementary regeneration initiatives include the creation of a one-way traffic system for vehicles entering Bridge Street from Union Bridge. This has created more short-term car parking and also eased traffic congestion around the Union Bridge road system.

Lisburn City Council have also drafted an Environmental Improvement scheme for Bridge Street which will proceed when most of the planned regeneration work is completed.
