Radio Link & CCTV
Radiolink is a comprehensive retail radio surveillance package with a two-way radio system that links all participating businesses in Lisburn to each other, and via the CCTV Control Room to the PSNI. The integrated CCTV system also enables tracking across the City using the CCTV control room staff, who actively monitor as well as being alerted to criminal activity or suspect offenders by Radiolink members, when appropriate they can directly alert police to deal with the situation. The system is owned and operated by Lisburn Commerce Against Crime with operational management provided by Lisburn City Centre Management.
RAC NI
Retailers Against Crime NI (RACNI), is a UK wide scheme and over the past number of years has built an extensive database on active suspect and known criminals operating in Northern Ireland. RACNI members in conjunction with local police share photographic details to members on suspect and known criminals at regular briefing meetings. This scheme also provides information on the latest techniques and schemes being used by criminals as well as advice and training on how to reduce or prevent crime from taking place in your business.
Police
The PSNI have designated City Centre Police Officers to provide a very visible presence, patrol and visit retail premises and a Police Business Crime Adviser to work directly with the retail and business community and to help coordinate the scheme.
Magistrates
Briefed about the scheme and to deal appropriately with offenders appearing before them and to administrate punishment for breaches of exclusion orders from members businesses.
