ArrowFantastic Easter Family Fun

On Easter Saturday the sun came out and with it 1,000’s of families for a fantastic day of family fun and music in Castle Gardens. The soundtrack to the day was provided by five local bands including Mike Mormecha, The Secret Room, Full Rejector and Jukebox Jurors who performed a mix of rock, folk and popular music.

Cllr Allan Ewart, Chairman Lisburn City Centre Management who organised the activities commented,
‘I’m delighted to see so many people enjoying themselves today listening to the great bands, watching the BMX show or taking part in one of the other activities. Speaking to visitors today it is also good to hear that todays event has attracted not just local families but also those from further afield to spend the day shopping and playing in Lisburn City Centre.’
Ramprage BMX display team put on a number of gravity defying displays on the lawn while the crowds watched in amazement. Lots of young people then had the opportunity to have a go themselves at a much safer ground level!

The mini fun fair kept the kids occupied for hours as they bounced on the inflatables while the artistic kids had the chance to make a number of different Easter creations in the arts and crafts room.

And of course the biggest hit on the day had to be the Easter bunny who spent hours handing out chocolates and meeting the families in line to have their faces painted. By the end of the day there were lots of kids looking like bunnies!
Cllr Jenny Palmer, Chair Council’s Economic Development commented,
‘Castle Gardens really was the place to be on Saturday. The family fun activities created a fantastic atmosphere in the lead up to the Circuit of Ireland Rally as people came from near and far to spend Easter Saturday in Lisburn. I look forward to future events and activities that encourage people to visit our city’
