ArrowFamily Fun in Castle Gardens

On Saturday 5th November visitors to Lisburn’s Enchanted Autumn Market took part in the different activities for all the family. They enjoyed the selection of great local produce, face painting, donkey tours of Castle Gardens, a purple turnip hunt and the chance to make and decorate purple turnip characters.

Over the half term break if you visited Lisburn City Centre you may have seen some kids with a purple card in their hands gazing in shop windows at odd looking purple turnip characters. They were of course taking part in the Purple Turnip Hunt and on Saturday the lucky prize winners were selected from over 300 entries, by Rodney Dowling, Vice Chairman Lisburn City Centre Management.

Rodney Dowling commented, ‘It is great to see so many families coming into Lisburn to take part in the different events in this unique festival which is now in its third year. Congratulations goes to everyone who took part in the Turnip Hunt and to the lucky winners, I hope that they all enjoyed the hunt around the City and Castle Gardens. Thanks must go to B&M Bargains, Trespass, Pizza Hut and Lisburn Leisureplex for supplying the turnip hunt prizes’

These events were promoted by Lisburn City Centre Management and part funded by Lisburn City Council’s Community Festival Grant.
