On Monday Lisburn City Centre Management (LCCM) were joined by over 60 people from the private and public sector as the Mayor Councillor Allan Ewart officially opened their new office space Rawdon House, in Market Square.
Situated in what Lisburn City Centre Masterplan describes as ‘The Heart of the City’ Rawdon House provides LCCM with a great opportunity to engage with the private sector in the delivery of a wide range of projects and initiatives with the aim of helping to encourage economic growth, manage physical change and deliver community benefit across the City Centre.
On opening the newly renovated premises Cllr Ewart said, ‘I have every confidence that this highly visible City Centre shop front location will become a great asset to LCCM in the delivery of their aims over the coming months and years.’
Cllr Palmer, Chairman of Lisburn City Council’s Economic Development commented, ‘The Council views Lisburn City Centre as key economic driver for the City of Lisburn, and it is not surprising therefore, that it has been and continues to be the recipient of significant Council resources. This includes core funding for provision of a city centre management function through LCCM who the Council views as a key resource and delivery partner to implement key Council priority projects such as city centre regeneration, events, marketing and business development support.’
Before outlining LCCM’s plans for the year ahead Patricia Elliott, Lisburn City Centre Manager said, ‘LCCM’s first floor office in Bridge Street was well situated in the heart of the Historic Quarter and served as a great location from which to deliver the regeneration of Bridge Street through the Townscape Heritage Initiative.’
‘I hope that this new prominent office location will have a similar impact on the City Centre and surrounding area. I look forward to working with public and private sector partners to deliver various programmes to improve our City Centre.’
Cllr Ewart added, ‘Whether you are hiring a space in Rawdon House, attending a meeting or City Centre Partnership event, looking for advice or you want to share your good ideas for improving the City Centre myself and the staff here at LCCM very much look forward to working with you to help change Lisburn City Centre for the better.’
